Editorial Analysis
A unified European organic cosmetics standard developed by BDIH (Germany), Cosmebio (France), Ecocert (France), ICEA (Italy), and The Soil Association (UK). COSMOS Organic requires a minimum percentage of organic ingredients and prohibits many synthetic chemicals. It does not explicitly prohibit animal-derived ingredients — COSMOS certified products may contain beeswax or lanolin. Not a vegan certification by default.
